Turmeric is used in many traditional dishes in Indian cuisine and is a standard ingredient in most curry recipes. Turmeric also tastes good in drinks such as a smoothie or the Ayurvedic drink Golden Milk. Even the smallest amount of turmeric gives the respective dish its typical golden yellow colour. In terms of taste, turmeric can best be described as tart, spicy and slightly bitter.
